Share good times and new adventures with friends as we explore and experience exciting places around Brisbane.
Our Group Community Access program helps you build confidence and connection through shared experiences. Each week, you’ll head out with friends and support staff to enjoy a variety of fun, inclusive activities across Brisbane – from bowling, movies and mini golf, to exploring the State Library, South Bank, or Parliament House. Activities change every week based on what’s happening in the community and what participants are most excited about. It’s a great way to try new things, meet new people, and build real-world skills along the way.
Mondays, Wednesdays, and every second Saturday
We encourage the use of public transport for travel skills and confidence building. SWARA vehicles are available when needed.
Through Group Community Access, you’ll discover new places and develop life skills, including:

NDIS community access aims to help participants engage in everyday activities and social interactions. swara community access includes social and recreational activities, transport, and support to connect with others and participate in the community.
Funding for Community Access is accessed through your NDIS plan. Typically, this would fall under the Core Supports or Capacity Building budget, depending on your goals and level of need.
NDIS can fund a support worker to accompany participants in social, recreational, or community-based activities. This includes not only being present during the event, but also assisting with transport, preparation, and the confidence-building needed to attend independently over time.
Activities may include art or cooking classes, attending community and sporting events, visiting parks or coffee shops, volunteering, and social outings.
