Follow the steps below to join our volunteering team!
Step 1: Express of interest
Please fill in the form below if you are interested in joining our volunteer team. One of our staff members will contact you shortly.
Step 2: Interview with our manager
Once we received your expression of interest form, our staff will contact you to make an appointment to come in to SWARA and have an interview with our manager.
Step 3: Apply for the yellow card and fill in our volunteering application forms
It is a legal requirement to get a yellow card prior to working in a disability environment. Our staff will guide you through the process of the yellow card application. It usually takes four to six weeks for the card-processing period.
Other than that, you will also have to fill in the volunteering application forms at our office.
Step 4: Induction training and a start to volunteering
On the first day of volunteering, our staff will explain the work health and safety procedure, and get you familiar with our community and facilities.
What Our Volunteers Say
Geoff has been volunteering at SWARA for 30 years!
In late 1995 or early 1996, I began volunteering at SWARA. The end of my first day is the only time I considered not coming back. However, I caught the SWARA bug and have witnessed some amazing results from clients as a result of SWARA’s love and care.
My volunteering at SWARA is exciting and stimulating, and I truly hope it is as satisfying for our clients as it is for me.
